Duties of Officers

Commodore – Commands the fleet; presides at all meetings; appoints the Chair and members of various committees; and serves as ex-officio member of all committees.

Vice-Commodore – Assists the Commodore in the discharge of duties and serves in the absence of the Commodore.

Rear-Commodore – Assists the Commodore and Vice-Commodore in their discharge of duties; serves in their absence; and presides over the ship’s store.

Secretary – Keeps official meeting minutes; issues meeting notices; and handles all correspondence and records.

Treasurer – Keeps club accounts; collects and disburses funds; makes periodic reports on the financial condition of the club; and issues membership cards.

Member-At-Large – Represents all members of the Board; responsible for greeting guests during club events; and assists with applications for prospective members.

Fleet Captain – Appointed by the Commodore to organize and arrange club events.

Past Commodore – Past Commodores serve on the Board of Governors for a three year period.

Board of Governors – Enforces club by-laws; governs the admission of new members; establishes financial policies; and assists elected officers.
